Over the past fifteen years the houses, gardens, farms and woodland areas have been used increasingly for film locations.
Many television programmes have been filmed on the Estate including Midsomer Murders and New Tricks. In addition several companies have commissioned advertisements which have subsequently been filmed here. Recently the Penn House interior was used for as a setting for Guy Ritchie’s Rock ‘n’ Rolla.
The most ambitious project undertaken by the Estate was the filming of “Nanny McPhee”. Twenty acres of parkland were transformed into the magical setting of the main house, funeral parlour and village scene in this romantic children’s movie.
Twenty minutes only from Pinewood Studios and within easy reach of London, this beautiful rural estate is ideally placed to meet the needs of the film industry. The owners and staff of Penn House Estate are committed to future filming projects.
Earl and Countess Howe have a great passion for music and the arts in general. Penn House is used regularly by the Chiltern Youth Chamber Orchestra for rehearsals
